On May 4, 2022, 6th grade students took part in an excursion to the National Bank of Slovakia in Banská Bystrica. The main point of the excursion was a three-hour training on the topic "Income and work" under the guidance of the lecturer of the 5-money programme, Mrs. B. Brenkusová.

The aim of the whole programme is to bring the world of work and money closer in an experiential and interactive way. During their education, students tried out the role of their preferred profession, for which they received a salary. At first, the students threw the ball and everyone said what they enjoyed and what they would like to do in the future. The lecturer had prepared various professions for then, which they could try out and received a "salary" for it.

Thanks to the presentations, they learned to orient themselves in terms of gross and net wages and learned about the basics of the tax system in Slovakia on specific examples. The practical part of the education consisted of group work. In the second part, we did the family budget. The teacher gave them cards where they wrote what they cost. They have realized how difficult it is for parents and they can't always buy what we want. The preparation of the family budget created a space for training in the implementation of financial decisions in the categories of housing, food, transport, etc.

In the third lesson, we played the game Kahoot, where we verified the information we obtained.

The pupils learned a lot in an interactive way and the aim of the excursion was gained. They understood the role of money and income and how difficult is to earn money.
