CMST Multiple energy sources: new ideas about natural resources all over the world

The activity was carried out during a hosting week. The students were divided in mixed groups. First, they had to search the Internet tofind one innovative idea, or a new idea, from all over the world. They had to focus on ideas meant either to improve their area or a city in the world, or to reduce pollution or to combat the greenhouse effect, or to reduce energy consumption, or to recycle energy, or to use fewer natural resources, or to protect oceans, glaciers…

They chose the following subjects : how to protect oceans and glaciers,  how to use less water, how to avoid overfishing, how to have a green school, how pollution of water affects the environnement, how to make compost, recycling of plastic bottles or of old  clothes,  also an idea from  Mexico where an artificial tree purifies air with algae inside, capturing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen, like 368 real trees and finally  an idea from Amsterdam, where they recycle the energy from the cyclists' movements to light the streets.

Finally, they had to find an original way to present their subject by choosing from:

-A small sketch, or a small drama (funny, or not)

-A poster, or slideshow that they would comment.

-A small model, using modelling clay, that they would explain to the others.

-A small poem, they would read or a small song, they would sing.

The students presented their project in an original way. They learnt alot, shared their knowledge and really enjoyed the activity.
