SEC- Developing creativity through dance
02 juil. 2023The activity took place in the school gy The studm during a hosting week. The students were divided into groups of 6. First, the PE teacher explained the aims and progress of the workshop.
They were invited to choose 3 types of energies and 3 types of means of transportation and then to try to include them in a choreography. Between the different elements, they were asked to add an eight-step dance.
After a warmup time, the PE teacher gave them examples and trained them to practise eight-step dances. The students then discussed, exchanged ideas and created their own choreographies. Here are a few examples of energies and means of transportation chosen: windturbines, fire, cars, planes, etc...). After that, they presented their creations one group after the other and finally performed all together.
The students enjoyed that activity a lot. It was fun, full of energy and also very good for the cohesion of the group. It improved their self-confidence and well-being. Everybody took an active part in the workshop, even the most reserved students. They did some physical exercise and improved their motor coordination, creativity and imagination, while working on the theme of the project E4l (Energy for life).
