SL22 SEC Zvolen castle
18 avr. 2022A guide first retraced the history of the Zvolen castle the Slovak National Gallery (Slovenská národná galéria). In the courtyard of the castle she gavethem a leaflet and asked them to find some places. Inside the gallery, starting from the room where there were some Italian renaissance painters. Then, using a playful questionnaire carried out in pairs (Slovak/penfriend), the pupils were led to reflect on architecture but also painting, the museumpresenting a collection of paintings from all over Europe, dating from the Middle Age to the 19th century. They learned about different types of paintings, portraits, landsapes, or still life. In the last room, there was a very long roll of paper where the students were asked to draw somethingstaking their inspiration from the graffitis that there were on the wall made by contemporary authors. They were thus introduced to the art of portraiture or still life. In the last room, they were able to participate in the creation of a monumental fresco inspired by various works exhibited in the museum. There were pieces of history connected with Italy and France too via lives of kings or famous painters.
The students were able to discover a part of Slovak history but also see paintings from all over Europe and deepen theirknowledge of how to analyze a painting. The students were really happy to discover a « new world », the world of painting, interacting with the guide and what with they saw on the walls
