RSC My city through my eyes
12 mai 2022Children from our School club were happy to participate in the E4L Erasmus+ project in various activities related to exploring the town of Sliač, its history, but also the present and the surrounding nature. For many, it is their hometown, some live in the surrounding villages, but consider it their city. They first got acquainted with the history through a prepared presentation. We talked about the buildings where the important Slovak poet Andrej Sládkovič lived and worked, we commemorated the memorials to fallen soldiers from the 1st and 2nd World Wars. By visiting the Štefan Hudak History room in our primary school, the children could compare what Sliač looked like then and now. Subsequently, during the school year, we also visited some places as part of walks in the area. Bezeg´s manor house is connected with A. Sládkovič, monuments, evangelical and catholic church. In the Sliač Spa, they visited natural mineral springs, the chapel of St. Hildegard, statue of Marina. Everyone liked something different and drew a whole mixture of different pictures. But most importantly - it was something that the children in Sliač consider the most beautiful that they would recommend to visit their friend. From the pictures, we made a poster that depicts Sliač through their eyes - certainly not to miss the military airport, but also ice cream - the best in the area, or a bike path along the Hron River. While part of the children drew, the other part of the children produced the most famous for them - Sliač Airport. From the waste material - from the cardboard they assembled the airport area, of course with the runway, runway lighting, navigation tower and parking lot. The planes were cut and painted not only by boys but also by girls. Everyone enjoyed their successful work.
