SEC Zvolen castle excursion

Each school year, it is a tradition, that your school club organizes a summer week camp for their pupils. This year they decided to do a project activity in summer too. As part of the summer children's camp, they focused on the history of the district town of Zvolen, of which Zvolen Castle is an integral part. In the presentation, the children learned how it was created, who built it and what the old and new Zvolenhrad was. The children first had to unravel the mystery of the parchment in order to find a place with a treasure around the castle based on clues. We searched the city for the remains of the old defensive fortifications and we were surprised at how many walls there are still around.

Subsequently, we visited the Zvolen castle itself with a guide. The excursion included various animation activities for children. Pupils liked the activity, they learned a lot as they were very curious and asked a lot of questions, they were really active.

Pupils learned about the history of their nearest castle. They got the idea of the past and present.
