After explaining the aim of the activity and the final product, the students took the bus to the city centre of Dunkerque, accompanied by their teachers. They were divided into small groups, each focusing on a particular place in the town. They looked for information about the history of the place and its importance in the city. They found a lot of details on the signs installed by the municipality, and took notes and pictures.

Back at school, they started writing articles in French and English about the different sites, searching for more details on the Internet if necessary. The challenge was to be both compedious and precise.

After that, they compiled all the articles in a sort of digital tourist guide, inserting the photos they had made. The guide was printed was further use.

The students created a small guide book of the city of Dunkerque, giving details about the different places of interest. Most of them realised they did not know the city very well and learnt a  lot about it. The booklet was used during the hosting weeks in March and May in Couderkerque-Branche by the Portuguese and Italian students when they had a tour of the city. The French pupils were ver proud of their final product, which they found very useful and concrete. It will beused again in the future.
