02 avr. 2023The pupils were able to visit a museum where Roman mosaics from the 5th century were discovered.Explanations on their discovery but also on their heritage interest were given.
Then, the symbolism of each mosaic was detailed.
It was also an opportunity to recall the importance of the villa in Roman society on the scale of the Roman Empire.
The students were impressed by the beauty of the mosaics but also by the remarkable state of conservation.
They were also able to see for the first time in real life Roman mosaics that they had only seen in books until then.
