SL22 RSC Excursion to the mine18 avr. 2022
We arrived late in the morning and our guide welcomed us at the entrance of this very old mine. We went into a building in which we wore green raincoats and yellow helmets and he gave us torches to protect and cover us during our visit. So we followed him along some stairs that took us to the entrance of the mine the Štôlňa Bartolomej. He told us how to behave inside and to follow him walking on the old railtrack. We went down until 52 metres under the soil and westopped three times during our visit in three different places where he showed us how miners worked and lived inside the mines. An important part of the work in mines was done by horses which helped miners inside to carry what theyextracted and moved a big wheel to carry up and down things. After one hour walk finally we went out to the light and sun. We learned about the most dangerous and the most useful thing for miners - water.
students learned about life in mines and the technology that was used inside. For many of them it was the first time in life experience and they also could see the bat sleeping there, which was another great experience.
