The last  stop was in the city of Noto, the capital of the Baroque.  We started our guided tour at the royal gate and went to the square of Basilica of St Nicolo. It is the most important monument of the city. Its construction dates back to the 17th century. We learned about its interior and exterior and about St. Corrado. The Cathedral stands opposite the city hall. We had an appointment with the mayor of the city. We learned that in 2002 seven Late Baroque Sicilian cities  of the Val di Noto were added to the UNESCO World heritage list.

The historical value of the city and its impact on pupils education was good. Pupils learned a lot and they enjoyed visiting all the UNESCO sites. They learned about the importance of protection of these places.
