06 oct. 2021The pupils of the Year 9 worked in groups in this activity. It was focused on the environment. They could use creativity and teamwork. Each group chose one pupil who wrote, but they worked together. First they played Bingo. The students got a chart with 9 boxes and they should have written one word or word expression that was connected with the topic “Climate change” in each box. Then they watched the video “Climate change” and the word or word expression that had been mentioned in the video and written in the chart, they marked. If they guessed three words or word expressions horizontally, vertically or diagonally, they had Bingo.
Then they were given the puzzle charts and the list of the words or word expressions that had been mentioned in the video. They should have written one word or word expression to each box so that they all were connected with the same topic. The students created interesting puzzles.
At the end they had a short discussion about natural disasters and how to prevent them. Global warming is causing various problems in the atmosphere. There is a strong link between natural disasters and climate change. So the first step is to reduce pollutant emissions. They learned that awareness, education, preparedness, prediction and warning systems can reduce the impact of natural disasters on communities.
