AA Mix Energetic of Guadeloupe
06 mai 2023The students first worked on the definition of the energy mix. They understood that it was a question of identifying the distribution of the different primary energy sources used for energy needs in a given geographical area. They therefore worked on the different kinds of energies available and used in Guadeloupe. Through researches on the Internet and through documentary research, they understood that in Guadeloupe most of the energy production comes from fossil fuels, electricity being mainly produced by diesel engines by a power plant located in the city of Baie-Mahault. On the other hand, they also learned that electricity is also supplied by clean, natural energies: 7% from solar energy 5% from geothermal energy, 15% from bio energy. For instance bagasse, which is a residue of the production of sugar cane. Wind and solar energy are also an important part of electricity production. Then the students had to work in groups to develop slide shows on each of the identified energies. Beyond the knowledge acquired on the territory's energy issues, they worked on digital skills and above all sought to optimize the effectiveness of their presentation. they asked themselves what information to include, how to arrange different elements, texts, images and graphics within their presentation frame. Students also had to think about how to make their presentation readable by using positive contrasts and working on issues of typography. Finally, oral skills were used during presentations to the whole class. They had to speak in public, learn to structure their speech and work together as a group.
